Just thought I'd let you know, that in case you're worried, you're not the only person who uses "lol" when talking to themselves :)

Actually, I usually add "jk" so it comes out like "jk lol". But I've found it to be more hacker cool than just saying, "that's funny."

Anyway, I've enjoyed your blog, it's given me a lot of new paradigm shifts. Keep posting!

Awesome post!!!
I´m working on my positive attitude, because I used to be a pessimistic person. And I get better and better *bigSmile*

But one thing is really difficult. I criticize myself very often and most of the time I´m not even aware of it... I think I have to work on that :-)

Sorry, but studies have shown that the majority of the population has a strong optimism bias, not a pessimistic one. (read some peer-reviewed articles please). The majority of the population, probably due to their optimism bias, skews the view of themselves rating themselves more intelligent and attractive than the average person. (lol guess what general population you can't all be above average!)

Not surprisingly the only people who have a realistic view (not skewed either negative or positive, the realists) of "reality" (current situations etc.) and of themselves are those people who are mild to moderately depressed.

Problem with this approach?

Most of the pessimists are waaay too in the rut to even consider trying. I sent this link to 5 people i knew and only two (*including* myself) didn't laugh at this idea.

2/6 :(

It works, though :)
