Today marks 2 years since I started this blog!
This is going to be a pretty self-indulgent post, so if you don’t care about me and what I do that much, feel free to skip this post. Check back on Wednesday for a regular all-about-you blog post
The year behind us
Here are some highlights from my past year…
- I released a free e-book – 5 Simple Steps to An Awesome Life (if you haven’t read it yet, grab a copy! It contains all the stuff you love about my blog, except more condensed!)
- I uncopyrighted my blog. You can now do whatever you want with the writing on here.
- gained ~200 blog subscribers. While by no means mind-boggling, the numbers are rising steadily, which is a good sign
- put out a 7-day e-mail course on overcoming procrastination - this was supposed to be the first step of an evil masterplan, involving getting people’s e-mail addresses, then regularly sending them good content, and eventually selling stuff and making money… but I procrastinated on that, so it only ended up being the first bit :p
- gave out free hugs!
- started writing an e-book on Learning Mastery. Compiling together all my posts on that topic, as well as adding tons of new tips I have never shared publicly before, this will be my first product for sale. I started early this year, and meant to finish by August. I’m still not done :p (But hopefully soon!)
And, of course, I started life coaching! (there’s a useful lesson in there)
I’d had a vague idea that I want to be a life coach, but I wasn’t doing anything about it. Then, one day, a friend of mine (Hi, Ammar!) tells me – “So you want to be a life coach. Why don’t you just put a post on your blog saying ‘Hey, I’m a life coach now, I’m taking on clients!’ ?”
This one simple question got me thinking… which lead to me taking on my first 3 free clients less than two months later! The only thing stopping me from taking on clients was that I wasn’t sure I could really handle anything they could throw at me. So I got in touch with a fellow life coach, listened to his advice, read a book he recommended me, and voila! I’m a life coach now!
So here’s a question for you:
What would you love to be doing? Is anything real stopping you, or do you simply need to clear up what’s the next step that moves you closer to your dream?
My plans for next year
Here are the main few things I plan doing next year:
- finish the Learning Mastery e-book
- take on one last round of free life coaching clients in late January, and then move on to paying clients in April (the free coaching is to get a bit more experience and testimonials, and also have time to get the legalities of taking money sorted)
- switch to Uberman’s sleep schedule (I meant to switch this September, but a super-evil disease knocked me out of the game for several weeks. Oh well, next September it is!)
And that’s all!
You might want to do a quick review of 2009 yourself. You’ll be surprised at how much awesome stuff you’ve done over the past year!

Happy New Year for you too… and let’s see what life brings you wrapped next year.
@Tedel:
Thanks! Happy New Year to you too. I have a feeling 2010 will be even more awesome than all the years to date…
Reading your blog has been super motivating and inspirational. I love it!

But somehow I have the feeling that the comments are decreasing
@Mike:
Yeah, I noticed that too. Oh well, maybe I should write something controversial more often :p
