April 2010

Note: To celebrate the start of my life coaching practice, I’m offering 50% off my usual coaching fees for the next week. Ask me for life coaching before May 5th at 12:00 GMT to qualify! (More details in the post below.)

I’m really excited today!

Over the last couple of weeks, I got all the legal and technical details of running a life coaching business in the UK sorted. And today marks the day when I’m officially starting my life coaching practice!

Continue reading below to find out a bit about what exactly is involved in life coaching (I’m planning a more detailed post on that soon), to find out about a free half-hour consultation I’m offering (because I want to make sure life coaching is right for you before we start, and that I’m the right person to do it), and my try-before-you-pay policy. Setting Clear Boundaries

by Vlad Dolezal on April 20, 2010

Think back to when you were a child, playing outside in the afternoon. Your parents set you clear boundaries – be home for dinner – and let you play outside. And you had nothing to worry about, except being your naturally creative, excited self, and being home for dinner.

Then you started growing up. Bit by bit, you got more responsibility for setting your own boundaries. Until one day you were suddenly grown up, making all your decisions yourself.

But with great power comes great responsibility. And what often happens is that people don’t set themselves clear boundaries. They let play bleed into work and work bleed into play and suddenly their life is one big jumble, where things bleed together and complete focus is rare. [click to continue…]

My Guest Posts on Other Blogs

by Vlad Dolezal on April 9, 2010

Good news, everyone!

Today, you get not just one blog post written by me, but three! :D

Also, they are guest posts for other blogs, which means they’re something extra special – I only offer the best of the best to other blogs as guest posts!

Anyway, read the quick descriptions below, and if a post catches your interest, click through to read the whole thing!

1. How to Escape Mediocrity (posted at The Change Blog)

Mediocrity is often more evil than a painful situation, because it’s not quite painful enough to compel you to take action and get rid of it. So you put up with it and end up feeling more discomfort overall.

Escaping mediocrity and helping you live the life really want is one of the biggest things I do with my life coaching clients. And now you too can get some kickass ways to escape mediocrity!

2. Harness Your Subconscious Wisdom by Asking The Right Questions (posted at Dumb Little Man)

Your subconscious mind is a non-critical non-judgmental targeting machine. It’s absolutely kicks ass at giving you answers to whatever questions you ask it… but it will do so equally vigorously with empowering questions as with question you’d rather not have the answers to (Like “Why can’t I ever get this right?”)

In this post, you will rediscover how to ask empowering questions and get some specific actionable steps you can apply immediately!

3. Making Personal Development Fun (posted at Productive Flourishing)

This post could pretty much be the manifesto for my blog. I cover why people find personal development hard and tedious (because they think it should be hard), as well as giving you some great ways to make it fun!

With plenty of stories and examples, with this post even making personal development fun can be fun! :D

And that’s all for today! Enjoy the posts, and see you on Tuesday!

Back in high school, I believed that you can’t override most of your automatic reflexes.

One day, in ethics class, I wanted to demonstrate this to my classmates:

“For example, when I wave a hand in front of your face, you will blink. You can’t help it.” I waved my hand in front of a friend’s face. He blinked.

“See?” I said.

“Do it again.” says my friend. So I waved my hand in front of his face again.

Nothing. He didn’t even flinch. [click to continue…]

Welcome to Vladdyland

Vlad

by Vlad Dolezal on April 1, 2010

Update: Happy April Fools! To clear things up – I’m quite happy with my blog as it is. Also, I’m pointing the link in the post below to a static page so you can all enjoy Vladdyland the way it was on April Fools’ Day :-) . Enjoy!

Great news, everyone!

Over the past month, I’ve been studying exactly what you, my readers, want. And I found out that:

  • you enjoy posts where I share things about myself
  • you like content that opens up your possibilities
  • you like content that’s different from all the other personal development blogs out there

With that in mind, I am really excited to announce officially rebranding my blog! (As well as changing the content slightly – it will involve more Vlad and more freedom for you.)

Say goodbye to Fun Life Development and say hi to Vladdyland! Check out the new front page of my blog (make sure your sound is turned on):

Welcome to Vladdyland

Click the link above and enjoy! (No, really, do click it.)
