If I were to ask you what holds you back from achieving your wildest dreams, what would be your immediate answer?
You’re not rich enough? Or not tall enough? Family holding you down? Live in the wrong part of the world? The society’s prejudice keeping you down?
I’m not going to tell you what I think of all those reasons. Instead, I will link you to a brilliant article by Tim Brownson about what’s holding you back, wherein he tells the story of how he met a 76-year old surfer woman. Read that article, because it’s brilliant, but here’s a short quote summing up the key point: [click to continue…]

I’ve learned a lot of interesting things from the survey I held last week, and I will share all of that with you today. But first, here’s the most important thing I learned:
If you have any questions about personal development, or thoughts about topics you would like me to cover, please e-mail me at me@vladdolezal.com.
As it turns out, quite a few of you asked about the same things in the survey. And several of you gave me good ideas about what blog posts to write.
So if you have any questions related to personal development, please contact me. Chances are, you’re not the only one, and once I’m aware that people want to hear about a particular issue, I can write a blog post about it that will answer your question and help many more people. Or at least point you in the right direction if I don’t know the answer to your question. [click to continue…]

Have you ever thought of being able to write an e-mail and carry on a conversation at the same time, while giving full attention to both?
Or paying sufficient attention to a boring teacher while also thinking and daydreaming about things that really interest you? (I know I’ve definitely dreamt of this one more than once
)
Well, read on, because in the experiment I’ll tell you about today, I tried to develop exactly that! [click to continue…]

I was sitting in front of a blank computer screen.
“Well, this is it.” I thought. “I guess I’ll have to give up blogging. I’ve got everything I need – several blog post ideas all worked out in detail – but the writing just isn’t coming. And frankly, I’ve felt it for a while now.”
Wait, let me backtrack a little bit and explain how I got to that point… [click to continue…]

(Update: The survey is now closed. Big thanks to everyone who took part. I will post the results soon, here on Fun Life Development.)
Today, for one day, I stop giving and instead ask for a little something in return.
No, I won’t ask you to sacrifice your firstborn in my name (though that would be pretty cool), or give me all your money.
I am simply asking for a few minutes of your time, to fill out a short survey about how you interact with my blog:
Fun Life Development reader survey
It will help me provide you with better content in the future, like covering topics which people want to hear about, and stop blabbering on about things which people don’t give an amoeba’s ass about. (Ha, trick analogy! Amoebas don’t have an ass.)
The survey is just 9 short questions. And only a single one of them is required (Number 7). When you see the question, I think you’ll understand why I simply cannot let you get away without answering that one
I will be back on Friday, with my usual exciting personal development advice. Until then, please please pretty please answer the survey.

(Update: The offer of free life coaching sessions is now over. However, don’t let that stop you from going through the GROW model for your own benefit
.)
With my summer holidays firmly behind me, I am back to investing most of my energy in life coaching and blogging, to help other people.
And because I have a bit of free time in my schedule in the upcoming weeks… I decided to fill it in by running a competition for some free life coaching sessions! [click to continue…]

This is the fourth (and last) part of a series of posts explaining the most powerful model I use with my life coaching clients. Read The GROW Model – Introduction to find out what it’s all about.
Alright! It’s time to take all the planning you’ve done so far, and use it to make your ideal goal a reality!
In this part, we’ll focus mainly on how to make sure you take action, once you decide what you want to do. Because it would be a shame to figure out exactly what you want, what needs to happen to get there and come up with many great ways to move towards it… only to fall victim to procrastination.
Luckily, I have a quite a few tricks up my sleeve to help you with this one

This is the second part of a series of posts explaining the most powerful model I use with my life coaching clients. Read The GROW Model – Introduction to find out what it’s all about.
Now that you know what your ideal situation would be, it’s time to compare it to your present situation (or, as we geeks would say, run a diff command).
That way, you’ll know how big a chasm stands between your reality and your dream situation, which will later help you build just the right bridge to cross that chasm.
(I assume you already have a goal in mind from GROW #1 – Goals. If not, go back and find one first, before you continue reading below.)
After that we’ll have a good hard look at everything you already possess that will help you move towards your ideal situation! [click to continue…]
