I was told by my grandmother years ago that she could not use soap on her face because her face was too dry. In homes for the elderly, they are not bathed daily because their skin is too thin. Naturally, if there is a need - an accident or such, they are bathed again.

I have not used soap for at least a couple of months now. I do enjoy the shower daily and I do use a loofah to help removed dead skin, dirt, and excess oils from my skin. The only change to my scent is that I don't smell like Irish Spring or Ivory and I don't have to moisturize every time I get out of the shower now. After the shower, my skin feels soft.

Another benefit I've noticed about myself, is that when I was using soap, I'd have the most terrible foot odor, now when I take off my shoes I don't kill everyone in the house. Honestly, I believe that using soap was causing my skin to go into overdrive....by stripping it of all of it's oils I was harming it and causing it to produce more.

I have to admit that I've taken to using a slightly soapy rinse on my hair every few days because I just can't get the hang of using the baking soda.

All in all, I like the way I smell and I like the way other people smell when they aren't using soap.

Those days, human used on not having shampoo and soap in their body. Apparently, shampoo and soap is tempting on human because of change. There are changes in the body and environment that really needs proper care of using shampoo and soap. It is advisable to use that daily because it is part of growing old.

I'm not sure on the odor if you have still a job outside. Pollution and dust will trigger your beauty skin care. I'm not totally agree without using soap and shampoo. Using shampoo and soap can minimize because there are effects on the body with abuse.

I'm doing the no shampoo thing now. I use a nice soft boar bristle brush to evenly distribute the oil. I brush very thoroughly to remove dirt or dander and such, then i do rinse my hair a lot and massage my scalp like I'm shampooing it. My hair is the softest it has ever been (i'm a girl by the way). I've also stopped using soap on my face and my skin feels so amazingly better. Your post has helped me decide to just keep on with the no soap at all!
Thanks!!!

I absolutely got no shampoo whenever I take a bath, I just clean my scalp with my bare hands and rinse them with hot water and guess what? It even grow faster and shiner this time. I just could not stand not to use soap for I had this thing that is very stinky whenever I sweat too much. I just can't help it.

I think i may be able to help with the meditation, 10 minutes is certainly not long enough, try 45 if you don't have time for an hour. The goal is not to try and silence your mind but rather sort through all the information the day gives you, once you are finished you will feel that silence you so desire. When you meditate think of everything you can until you are all thought out... it usually takes 45 minutes... It helped me get great grades in college. you can just sit back and let your mind sort itself out sometimes.. what helps are ear plugs and a blindfold.

I am doing this as well, when I run the hot water in my hair I use a brush the kind with lots of bristles. I think this aids in the more even distribution of oils along my hair. My hair isn't very long, nearly shoulder length so the tangling isn't very bad at all and it feels wonderful. It is so soft, even on those days I have to blow dry.

I have noticed that when I put my nose to my arm and sniff hard, I smell like a human (humans smelling like humans - go figure), not a strange soapy flower and again, I really have to concentrate to pick up the scent. My face is soft, and not oily or tight (which prompts me to put artificial chemical lotions on it causing breakouts occasionally). I have also discovered that I'm not as cold as I come out of the shower during the winter.

Our skin is supposed to protect our bodies from illness so why would we need to attack it?

I didn't see a name on the posts and maybe it's because I haven't looked hard enough, but I'm with you sister/brother.

Since I had a crew cut, I didn't use shampoo. Haven't used soap or (bath/shower gel etc) for years.
Now I'm letting my hair grow longer, I do use a shampoo every ten days and then use a bit of baby oil so my hair doesn't fall down (I have VERY straight hair)
I have never had anyone say something about my BO. I do use a deodorant though.
