Get Rid of Procrastination!
No more spending time on trivial distractions when you’d rather be doing something productive

Have you ever wondered what causes procrastination?
It’s not as simple as most people think. Let me tell you a story…
Back in high school, I would always have plenty of chores around the house that I had to do. Laundry, dusting, sweeping floors… and as every teenage boy, I did my best to avoid doing them. I did a little bit from time to time, but mostly I procrastinated about the chores.
But, somehow, roughly every two weeks, all the chores would suddenly get done.
At first I didn’t even realize it was happening. Then I noticed it, and started looking for possible explanations. After rejecting alien intervention and the existence of a crazy compulsive house-cleaning burglar, I finally found the cause.
Every two weeks, I received an english homework.
I would be sitting in my room, trying to get myself to write an english essay. But it’s something I absolutely hated, so I would find every possible way to procrastinate.
Yes, up to and including house chores!
How to Stop Procrastinating
In the above story, I unconsciously applied the procrastination switchout. That’s where you set yourself a “fake” task, different from what you actually want to get done. And by heavily focusing on the fake task, you get yourself to procrastinate against that, and suddenly getting your original task done becomes a way of procrastinating!
I explain the procrastination switchout in more detail in my free course Overcome Procrastination! – 7 Days to Lasting Personal Growth, along with many other great techniques for overcoming procrastination.
It’s not the only technique, by far. The right technique depends on the cause.
Have you ever…
- Sat around procrastinating, knew you should be doing some work, but didn’t know how to get yourself to do it?
- Tried fighting procrastination head-on, but only ended up exhausted and frustrated without getting much done?
- Kept delaying and delaying a task until two days before the deadline, and then had to scramble like mad to finish on time?
- Spent hours on activities that were neither productive nor restful?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, my FREE course is just for you!
Procrastination doesn’t just stop you from work. It also stops you having fun! Think about it. How much fun is constantly checking e-mail, twitter, facebook, and other distractions? Wouldn’t it be much better to spend some quality productive time, and then fully enjoy your free time without worrying about work?
That’s why overcoming procrastination is so useful! It not only lets you get more done, it gives you more free time as well!
